The email: CM,
Set the timer for 30 minutes. You objective is get through as many rounds as you can in the 30 minutes of time.
round 1 is 1 rep of each exercise, Round 2 is 2 reps of every exercise and so on.
This workout will start at the first bench that we used to demonstrate burpees off of.
1 side to the other monkey bars (NOT RINGS but bar)
Pushups
Burpee
Box jump (onto bench)
Run end of your walkway where it meets the sidewalk.
Rest when needed and send me how far you get.
~GS
The equipment:
I was anxious and excited to get started and set a goal beyond my means knowing I could hit it but also knowing it was close enough that I would not stop for 30 minutes if I didn't; 15. 15 reps was what I could hit. I headed out at 8:30, well before anyone else would be there to stare/mock/insult/ridicule/(insert embarrassing resulting task mean people do here). Set the timer and off I went.
I IMMEDIATELY knew 15 was well beyond my means when I removed a long standing callus from my hand on the first pass through the monkey bars.
To ensure I hit all 30 minutes, I had to alter the monkey bar rep to be just 1 pass each round (Damn you monkeys and your precarious swinging ways!!!) I was able to get to 8 reps before the timer saved my life with its angelic ringtone signaling my completion of day 1.
Looking back, it was a success for me. In hindsight, I completed 8 passes through the monkey bars, 36 pushups, box jumps and burpees (calculated as 8! or 8 factorial for you math heads) and 8-500 yard wind sprints.
The result: a good first day for me and the realization that I have far more to go! Bring on day 2...
I like it!
