Thanks for taking the time today Sully! Let's translate the email before we breakdown my run.

Hey, remember that run you didn't finish fully a few days ago? Yeah do that again, THEN walk around the front of your house and let your body take in the sight of completion and just when you are ready to call it quits, run far away again.

I quickly realized this morning that reason I did so poorly last run was because I forgot my armband phone holder thing-a-ma-jig. It's how real runners run. DUH! The route was a different story. It wouldn't work for me. I still need to be in a position of leaving the house and workout until I'm done then go home... so I changed my route. Sorry Sully, I know me and I never would have run the second leg.

The splits make sense really. The second mile is where the14 feet of elevation slowed me down. That's like a flight of stairs! That'll do a number on the legs. But thankfully I did close to 200 squats last week in preparation so I easily tackled the incline.

So I fell short again. I was SPENT! I ran as far and as long as I could before needing to call it. Looking at the map I feel like my route was similar to Billy from Family circus.

(If this is not familiar to you, be prepared to not get many of my jokes. I'm obviously far older than you and my material is dated)

The upside is that I ran nearly twice as far today and the last 3/10 of a mile were at a fairly fast pace. I could see the end of the street and took off, passing a lady walking her dog. She looked at me as if I was a crazy person being chased by my imagination. And she was right! I was imagining myself having finished 20 minutes before and resting on the couch!

The runs are definitely going to be the most challenging part of this workout routine for me. I have always hated jogging (silent J!) and don't see that changing anytime soon. Its cool though because I bought a big container of coconut water, so I'll be hydrated within the next 20 minutes or so. Its silly really, but its how I do things.

Look out for tomorrows workout, I'm being told I'm to re-enact "The little Mermaid". I'll be playing the part of Sebastian the Crab. Till tomorrow...
