get on the otherwise before you have to start again: total workout time is 50
minutes.

We're back! Yup, this is what I get excited for.
Yesterday was such a crappy day for me. After a bum workout, I went to work and felt like I was going through the motions much like Tom Hansk in Joe vs. the Volcano:
After taking a day to manstrate, I secluded myself on my island with my own personal "Wilson" and went on a hydrating binge. I pounded some coconut water, ate a few bananas and stretched like a madman. I was then like Tom Hanks in Castaway (anyone else catch the theme yet???)
At 5:15 this morning , I awoke to one of the most impressive lightening storms in a while. It was an awesome display of nature and looked like a game of lawn darts amongst the Greek Gods. It had me thinking I would need to find an indoor arena for my game today, but the storm quickly passed. The downfall to working out so quickly after one of those types of storms is that the air stays heavy. Sweat quickly forms on your skin and doesn't leave, oftentimes breaking a sweat of its own. It made today's challenge quite difficult.
I went into this morning with the thought that I would have a solid 2 minutes to recover and quickly jumped into the first round killing the Burpees and pushups. the Box jumps gave me a bit of trouble because I couldn't keep my upper body above my hips and I'd jump too far forward or to shallow and had a poor position for the return. After the saunter to the house and back, I was out of breath but happy with my time knowing I had 2 minutes of recovery to get myself composed...then I looked at the timer. 43 seconds. (Explicit language starting with the letter "F")!!! You have got to be kidding me. I took a few deep breaths and mustered through another 3 rounds before the time got the better of me and I fell short of finishing the run.
As I type this and think about what I must have looked like after those 4 rounds, I giggle a bit, though what ensued during the next 3 must have been hard for anyone to watch. Arms flailing, pushups that looked like stretch armstrong had been recently overextended. I must have looked like Richard Simmons:
I did get through all exercises, but not in 50 minutes. took me 56 in total. I ended the last few rounds absolutely needing a break. I did push though to 10 sets too because I know tomorrow is a day off. I am planning a brisk walk at the office on Wednesday though, trying to keep the pace of this moving along. I am finding that as the days progress, I am more eager to get started and exercise, and to blog about it! It has become my morning ritual and will probably continue to be so long after the 60 days have past.
I did want to also mention that I was asked to be an escort for Corey and Cady at the Falmouth and will be attempting to run the full seven point infinity miles with them. We are 19 days away from a big run for me, one that I finished in 82 minutes 2 years ago. Tomorrow is an off day, so until then remember clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose. (For you Lou!) See you Thursday!
Texas forever.
