CM,
Good work getting the workouts in these last two sessions.
Life always has a way with messing up a perfect workout schedule so well done
to you (and the family).
Today is all about straight sets to failure. We are going to
choose 3 exercises in which you will do 4 sets. Do as many possible reps as you
can without a break (anything longer than a deep breath ~1 second or so). Once
you complete the set rest 75 seconds and repeat the effort trying to get the
same number as set 1, note if you went to true failure you should NEVER get the
same number, don't get discouraged just focus on recovery and nailing down the
next set.
1. passes through the monkey bars
2. bench jumps
3. pushups
remind yourself to dig deep esp on set 3 & 4 - we have a
much deserved day of rest tomorrow.
The Equipment:
Before we begin with today's workout, I do owe you all last night's run breakout:
(I know, the run route looks like a family drawing done by my 2 year old. )
Today:
I LOVE these exercises! Its fast simple, no need to be a CPA to figure out the breakdown of when to do stuff. Its "get down, get dirty and hit it hard."
The sets were better than I expected:
1. Monkey bars: I counted each bar I ran as 1, there are 8 per pass. I finished 15, 12, 5, 4
2. Box jumps: 31, 22, 15, 9
3. Pushups: 27 (yeah 27! I though the last one was going to tear my bicep, but I pushed through) 16, 8, 5
I know! I couldn't believe it either!
I'm loving how I feel today. I feel stronger, more determined and ready to take on the world. A far cry from the sluggish uninhibited person I was just 3 weeks ago. I pushing harder with each workout too because I know the Falmouth is only 13 days away and I want it to be a great showing. Sully- I need a CPC shirt to represent! I forgot the feeling of fatigue and how awesome it feels the next day knowing you worked your ass off the day prior.
Tomorrow is an off day, though I find myself walking around a ton during my lunch hour, so I'll probably follow suit and take a walk.
Side note: we just surpassed 1100 reads of the blog! Thank you again for all your support. I'm hoping to take this viral so keep sharing this adventure and link on FB and where ever you can. I'd like to see 10k reads before the 60 days are up!
BOOM!
