The Equipment:
What a weekend! Wedding, hangovers and a day of getting ready to get back to it. I even came into work on Monday to keep from getting totally enveloped with work today...didn't help.
Monday's workout was a beast! I had to procure some time in the evening to hammer this out because, well, it was a holiday and I slept in until my son woke me up, then had ZERO ambition to do anything, only mustering up the desire to workout around 8 pm. What a mistake! I HATE putting myself in a position of waiting beyond my desire to do anything and then putting together a workout with little energy.
Got the workout done though averaging 3-4 sets per 5 minute cycle. I'm liking pushups more and more with each day that passes and hating Burpees equally on the spectrum.
This morning made for an interesting day too. Not sure why all the fun runs involve rain, but it did and I often found myself next to a puddle doing my pushups, weak from the night prior. I looked like a baby giraffe trying to stand for the first time after my first round of burpees.
I finished 1.6 miles in the 30 minutes, mostly because I was drained from all the extra "anaerobic" exercises?
I quickly got dressed after my run and shot down to have my blood taken for my cholesterol. 13 hours of fasting is an eternity to a foodie like myself. At one point, I think I saw Sally Struthers calling for me as I slept because of how undernourished I looked.
(See how her eyes say "You need to eat! Look at me...this is how a healthy eater looks!")
I'm anxious to see how it all went and if there has been any changes to my internal health as well. I'd be hard pressed to think otherwise. The office is swamped again today and is expected to get busier as the week progresses, so expect a few shortened blogs over the next couple of days. I will be sure to blog each day; its become my serenity amidst the chaos.
Until tomorrow! BOOM
